Private universities asked to give aid to immigrants.(News)

Byline: Teresa Mask Daily Herald Diversity Editor Chicago's Loyola University has initiated a task force to explore the possibility of offering financial assistance to illegal residents. "Loyola University has always been supportive of new immigrants to the city of Chicago, so this is consistent with our history and our mission," said Philip Hale, who will lead the internal task force and is director of government and community relations.

The task force comes as a result of meetings with a consortium called the Organization of the NorthEast, whose mission includes improving opportunities for immigrants.
