If he is, he shouldn't. The three-sport athlete's perseverance is inspiring. In a Sept. 21 football game against Immaculate Conception, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound linebacker made his third and final tackle of the game.

Kathy Wissmiller describes his son "laying on the ground, paralyzed from the neck down." He was later diagnosed with a spinal concussion.
