Cave In sure to attract with 'Antenna'.(Time Out!)(Album Reviews)

Cave In, "Antenna" (RCA) Boston's Cave In have taken criticism for making their first major label release a bit too similar to the music of Failure, the post-grunge critics' favorite that guitarists Stephen Brodsky and Adam McGrath cite as a major influence. But considering not many people are familiar with Failure, it's unfair to accuse the quartet of opportunism.

"Antenna" is better seen as a simplified take on the Cave In's own 2000 effort "Jupiter," one of the finest space-rock discs of the past decade. Also largely unheard by anyone not already following their astonishing transition from progressive hardcore, that album confirmed that Brodsky's vocals command even when he's not roaring about veganism.
