- Demetrius Petrow of Glen Ellyn was on the first-place team that earned a $20,000 prize by winning DePaul University's Driehaus Virtual Stock Portfolio Competition. Eleven teams of DePaul finance seniors traded a virtual portfolio of $200,000 in stocks through a computer simulation of the market that began last fall and concluded this spring.

The goal was to teach students the fundamentals of investment research and decision-making. - Nicholas Taylor of Addison was awarded a scholarship from the Best Buy Children's Foundation. Taylor was in the honors program at Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison. Taylor was also an Illinois State Scholar and on the Daily Herald Leadership Team.
