Every airline, except Southwest Airlines, charges a reissue fee, but amounts vary. America West, American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Northwest, US Airways and United charge a $100 reissue fee (it's called a cancellation fee or change fee, depending on the airline), plus any difference in the cost of the ticket if the fare has gone up.

Some smaller airlines offer a better deal, so maybe you should throw business their way next time. Spirit Airlines charges $75. AirTran, Alaska Airlines and ATA charge $50. Midwest Airlines charges either $50 or $100, depending on the type of ticket you...
