William R. Gish of Arlington Heights A memorial service for William R. Gish, 87, a longtime resident of Arlington Heights, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Kingswood Methodist Church, 401 W. Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove. He passed away at the Glen Oaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. Mr. Gish will be remembered for his service in the South Pacific during World War II as a B17 pilot in the Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.
He received the Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He then became an accountant and worked in real estate. He will be missed by all. He was the beloved husband of Effie (nee Nordin); loving father of Barbara (Bill), David (Pam) and Paul; proud grandfather of Dan and Amy; and fond brother of Phoebe Lull. In lieu of flowers,...
