Byline: Bob Frisk It didn't take long for area stars to start shining in the 2003 college soccer season. Freshmen already are making major contributions on Notre Dame's No. 2-ranked women's team (6-0-0), and a main player has been Jen Buczkowski from Elk Grove. The freshman midfielder had 2 goals and 3 assists to win offensive MVP honors in the Notre Dame Classic, and she then was named Big East women's soccer rookie of the week.
"Buczkowski has really made a difference," said Irish coach Randy Waldrum. "She may have been one of those missing links. She's so good in that spot that we play her.
