Elephant taken from farm: Federal agriculture officials seized an Asian elephant from a circus training farm in McHenry County, saying the animal's health was in danger. The 57-year-old elephant, Delhi, was taken to Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tenn. It arrived Sunday morning with severe infections in its feet, said Carol Buckley, the sanctuary's executive director.

Authorities from the U.S. Department of Agriculture confiscated Delhi from Hawthorn Corp. after determining that the elephant's "health and well-being were at serious risk from lack of veterinary treatment and inadequate veterinary care," said USDA spokesman Jim Rogers.
