Byline: Mike Comerford Daily Herald Business Writer This cartoon battle pits talking ewes, tomatoes and moose in a struggle for millions of dollars in real-life revenues. At the center of the battle is Lombard-based cartoon animator Big Idea Productions Inc., which a bankruptcy judge this week agreed should be sold to New York-based Classic Media LLC for $19.3 million.
The not-so-comic twist is that Classic Media, a cartoon owner and manager, wasn't the highest bidder ... by far.
