Drach earns MAC's top academic honor.(Sports)

Byline: Daily Herald Staff Reports Western Michigan University quarterback Jon Drach has been named to the 2003 Mid-American Conference All-Academic Team. Drach started the last five games of the 2003 campaign and set a school record for completion percentage in a season (67 percent). He passed for a career-high 391 yards at Connecticut and completed 20-of-23 passes for 4 touchdowns in a 28-20 win over Ball State.
Drach ranks third in MAC passing efficiency (156.1) and was named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week in November. He also received WMU's John Gill Scholar-Athlete Award at the season-ending banquet. A business finance major, Drach owns a 3.48 cumulative grade-point average.
