Byline: Jane Oppermann A bit of sleuthing helped Mary Jane Wurtz find one of the latest and least invasive procedures for her swallowing problem, pioneered at Loyola University Health System in Maywood. The 77-year-old Winfield native initially thought that tightness in her throat and an occasional regurgitation of food was inconvenient, but something she could live with.

But over the years, the symptoms became more frequent and bothersome. "The regurgitation became a daily problem, especially at night," Wurtz said.
