Waller Daily Herald Staff Writer The Barat College alumni foundation has offered to raise $2 million - with possibly more later - to help persuade DePaul University not to end its partnership with the small Lake Forest school. But members of the Barat Education Foundation acknowledge they are already talking with other potential partners if DePaul trustees vote on Wednesday to abandon the 4-year-old merger.
In a memo sent Friday to DePaul trustees, the foundation offered to keep DePaul and Barat together by raising $2 million. The memo also proposes the foundation work to provide more revenue for the Lake Forest campus - possibly through educational programs not in competition with DePaul.
