Byline: Kent McDill Daily Herald Sports Writer Jenni Dant took the direct route from the suburbs to DePaul University. Ashley Luke took a two-year detour through Pennsylvania before arriving downtown. They are now key components of the DePaul women's basketball team that is ranked 15th in the nation.

DePaul (19-2) plays Marquette today at the DePaul Athletic Center. The Blue Demons lead the nation in scoring (90.9 points per game average). They also are No. 1 in average steals per game (15.3). Dant and Luke are similar only in that they played high school basketball in suburban Chicago, Luke at Waubonsie Valley in Aurora and Dant at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.
