Waller Daily Herald Staff Writer DePaul University's decision Wednesday to stop operating its Lake Forest campus set in motion a bigger push by the Barat Education Foundation to save the century-old school. "DePaul decided to exit Barat, but Barat didn't exit Barat," said Sheila Smith, chairman of the foundation whose members were sealing letters Wednesday afternoon seeking alumni help.

DePaul trustees voted 26-3 to end operations at Barat by June 2005. Two trustees abstained. "It was a very, very passionate discussion," said DePaul spokeswoman Denise Mattson, who was allowed inside the closed-door meeting for the private university.
