Scheurer will focus on important issues It is only a short time until the Illinois primary, and I have seen no analysis of either Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress from Illinois' 8th District, so I did some Internet research of my own. The candidates are Melissa Bean and William Scheurer.
There is not much information to be found easily on either, but both have Web sites with statements on the issues. Both candidates appear fairly similar on most issues. The main thrust of each candidate is starkly different, though. Bean focuses a great deal on two facts: She wants us to know she has raised a lot of money and, in her previous race against Crane, she didn't lose as badly as her predecessors.
