- At the end of the school year when the president's gavel is handed over to the new National Honor Society president for the 2004-05 school year, a Grant High School first will take place. Terrence L. Grom Jr. will assume the responsibilities of president and continue a succession of three consecutive years of Grom presidencies.
Prior to this coming school year, brothers Jeffrey (2003-04) and Douglas (2002-03) also held the top spot of the NHS. According to Richard Free, NHS faculty adviser for several years, this is a first under his tutelage and may in fact be a first for the history of the school.
