Lifelong hobby evolves into sports card store.(Business)(Northwest business)

Byline: Kim Mikus Longtime Palatine resident Mike Weber traded his 25-year corporate career for sports cards. Weber turned his lifetime hobby into a new business venture. He launched Palatine Sports Cards Plus at 54 W. Illinois in Palatine. Weber sells sports cards, supplies, Pokemon cards and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards.
"My baseball card collection goes back to my teenage years," Weber said. He said his new store features more than a half million cards. "Baseball cards have been a life-long hobby of mine. This is an extension of it," he said of his new store that opened Saturday. He also buys cards and sells them in the shop.
