Byline: Ames Boykin Daily Herald Staff Writer Des Plaines has agreed to pay $215,000 to the employer of a man convicted of accepting bribes from someone with reputed mob ties to buy out a redevelopment contract. Aldermen Monday night voted 5-2 to close out dealings with Rolling Meadows-based Prime Site Inc., which had done real estate work on a project to redevelop an area near Mannheim and Higgins roads.
The settlement amount will be included in city's expenditures at its next meeting Aug. 16. Fifth Ward Alderman Carla Brookman and 3rd Ward Alderman Laura Murphy opposed the deal, saying they wanted an investigation.
