As tomato season blends into squash season, many area farmers markets come to a close. But that doesn't mean you have to lose your connection to local produce. Sustain, a Chicago-based group devoted to furthering locally grown organic products, and Whole Foods Market recently launched Sustain's FamilyFarmed.org program.

The goal of FamilyFarmed.org is to help family farmers across the region thrive by linking them to buyers at retail outlets. Whole Foods Market shoppers will notice posters identifying regional producers whose products are sold at the stores.
