Rooney, president and chief operating officer of Chicago-based U.S. Cellular Corp., has been named to Loyola University's board of trustees. Rooney, 62, who got his MBA from Loyola, will be on the academic committee of the board.

Dahlquist and Lutzow Architects Ltd., in Elgin and Hinsdale hired Darcie Wostratzky of West Chicago as a full-time intern architect.
