Justice department OKs IMC merger LAKE FOREST - IMC Global Inc. and Cargill Inc. are a step closer to their proposed merger that will form The Mosaic Co. The companies said on Tuesday the U.S. Department of Justice approved the merger after an antitrust investigation. The move still has to be approved by The Canadian Competition Bureau and the Brazilian government, and by shareholders at a special meeting, the date of which is pending Securities and Exchange Commission approval.
