Chicago Rivet profit up due to lower costs NAPERVILLE - Chicago Rivet & Machine Co.' s profit in the third quarter was $601,615, or 61 cents a share. During the year-ago period, profit was $5,431, or 1 cent a share. The company said the improvement mainly is attributable to lower manufacturing costs and a $330,000 refund - the result of an appeal - of a Michigan business tax from four years ago.
The company said a 5.7 percent revenue jump, to $9.3 million, also helped raise profit.
