More good reasons to clean up our air For more than a year, our Clean Air Counts program has successfully recruited businesses to voluntarily reduce air pollution. On Dec. 17, the federal Environmental Protection Agency doubled the reasons for joining our cause. On that day, the EPA cited the Chicago metropolitan area for failing to attain minimum health standards for the amount of soot in the air we breathe.
