Mundelein senior basketball player Sarah Miller surpassed the 1,000-point plateau Tuesday night during the Mustangs' regional opener against Vernon Hills at Libertyville and did it in "typical Miller fashion," assistant coach Jeff Harding wrote on the team's Web site.
Miller jumped in the passing lane, got a steal and finished with a layup at the other end. The bucket gave Miller 19 points in the game and 1,001 for her four-year varsity career. Mundelein head coach Brian Evans then pulled Miller from the game, which the Mustangs won 62-31 to advance to tonight's regional final against Zion-Benton.
