Byline: Lisa Smith Daily Herald Staff Writer A pending sale of the northern portion of the 160-acre Kane County Fairgrounds would help fund improvements to many of the site's 40-year-old buildings and infrastructure. The fair's board is working out a deal to sell the 37-acre parcel - along Randall Road on the northern and eastern sides of the fairgrounds property - to Zylstra Harley-Davidson, which plans to redevelop the site to house a motorcycle dealership and other retailers.

It also might include offices and high-density residential units, according to a proposal submitted to the St. Charles community development department. Larry Breon, president of the Kane County Fair Board, said the sale will help pay for bathrooms to be added and electrical wiring...
