IDEX outperforms analysts' estimates NORTHBROOK - IDEX Corp. posted record earnings, up 34 percent, and beat the analysts by a penny. The fluid-handling technologies specialist had a profit of $23.6 million, or 45 cents a share, in the first quarter. The earnings compared with $17.7 million, or 35 cents a share, in the year-earlier quarter.

The growth was due to acquisitions, better operating margins and favorable currency exchange rates.
