Byline: Bob Gosman Daily Herald Correspondent The Harper athletic department is used to losing players after two seasons to four-year schools. Now, the Hawks men's basketball coach is following in the footsteps of his players. John Bagley, Harper's coach for the last three seasons and a former NBA player, has resigned to finish his degree at Boston College.

After three seasons at Boston College, Bagley left in 1982 to turn pro. He will begin classes in May and is just one year shy of obtaining his degree in sociology. He hopes to be an assistant coach at either Boston College or a nearby university. "John was a player's coach who had excellent teams," athletics director Doug Spiwak said.
