Byline: Michael Puente Daily Herald Staff Writer In an 11th-hour campaign mailing, the Palatine businessman challenging Mayor Rita Mullins for the village's top job is questioning the $650,000 price she got for selling her house to a local developer. Mullins sold her 94-year-old house at 123 N.
Brockway Ave. in November to a firm called Block 27 L.L.C. Vito Manola, who is running for village president in Tuesday's election, said the $650,000 price is higher than the sales prices for similar homes less than a block away. Mullins denied any wrongdoing and said, "It is desperate measures by a desperate man ... doing smear campaigning at the last minute. "He is charging that I am dishonest or unethical and I take great offense to that," she said....
