Byline: Dave Boe Former U.S. Secretary of State General Colin Powell will pilot a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette convertible pace car to lead the field to start the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 later this month. For a record seventh time, Corvette will pace the Indy 500. The pace car features a 'victory red' paint treatment with a bright silver metallic stripe down the center.

The 2005 Indy 500 logo appears on both doors and is embroidered on the headrests while the Chevy red racing bow tie appears at the top of the hood. Too many horses?
