In 2000, DePaul University officials were looking for a site to open their second satellite campus, to complement their main campus in Lincoln Park and O'Hare Campus in Des Plaines. The site they settled on was in Rolling Meadows. University officials recognized a great number of the university's graduate students lived or worked in the Northwest suburbs, and by bringing the university to them it fulfilled their mission of providing accessible higher education for working adults.
