Byline: Dave Miller Daily Herald Sports Writer A Broadway play hit Chicago on Monday. The White Sox signed first-round draft choice Lance Broadway for $1.57 million in a figure provided by the team. The 21-year-old right-handed pitcher from Texas Christian University will begin his pro career at Class A Winston-Salem.
Broadway, who stands 6-feet-3, went 15-1 with a 1.62 ERA as a junior this season. The 15th pick overall led all NCAA Division I pitchers in victories, while setting a school record for wins and strikeouts with 151 in 117 innings.
