Byline: Christy Gutowski Chicago Magazine chose a DuPage County prosecutor as one of its picks for an edition about "super lawyers" in Illinois. Assistant State's Attorney Augusta Clarke received the recognition for her work protecting people who many times can't defend themselves. Clarke, who joined the office in 1991, is supervisor of the special victims unit.
She has worked extensively on behalf of senior citizens, the disabled and the mentally ill. She also has trained hundreds of police officers, attorneys, social workers and volunteers on issues related to the proper handling of such cases.
