Byline: C. L. Waller Daily Herald Staff Writer Some might call the Barat campus in Lake Forest a relic. After all, Saturday marked the 86th and last commencement there. But for 80-year-old graduate Janet Hilliard Newell, the college in her town meant opportunity. After six years, she earned a bachelor's degree in art and walked with other graduates Saturday to receive her diploma.

Newell couldn't have timed it better, with the nation's largest Catholic university, DePaul University, closing its Barat campus this month. "Whomever is responsible, may they go with God," Newell said.
