After graduating with honors from Bradley University in 2004, she accepted a job as a teacher's aide at Ivy Hall Elementary School in Buffalo Grove. The 24-year-old had hoped the work would lead to a full-time teaching position, but nothing opened up by year's end.
"I told her to be patient, that something would happen," said Prospect Heights resident Lynn Turk, whose son was a friend of Harris'. "She had a wonderful future ahead of her."
