OfficeMax names CEO as chairman ITASCA - OfficeMax Inc. said it chose Sam Duncan, its president and chief executive officer, to serve as chairman of the board of directors. The move is no surprise, as OfficeMax has said Duncan would probably replace the retiring chairman, George Harad. Duncan joined the company from Shopko Stores Inc.
in April, again replacing Harad, who served as interim CEO after Christopher Millikin resigned from the post in February amid a scandal involving $3.3 million in false claims that OfficeMax billed to vendors.
