Douglas D. Savage formerly of Mount Prospect Douglas D. Savage, 78, died of lung cancer Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in Winter Haven, Fla. Burial will be in Florida National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. He was born Nov. 15, 1926, on a farm in Franklin County, Iowa. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion, the Shriners, and the Moose Lodge.
Doug attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and worked in the printing industry for many years. He had been a resident of Mount Prospect for 20 years, and later of Arlington, Texas for 20 years. He retired to Auburndale, Fla., in 1998.
