Byline: Tia Carol Jones Instead of arts and crafts, swimming or softball, a group of summer campers at College of DuPage are focusing their attention on careers in science and technology. Camp Infinity, a one-week program for young women, is offered both at COD in Glen Ellyn and Loyola University in Chicago.
It is sponsored by AT&T. During the week, campers ages 14 to 17 were exposed to career options in science, technology and business. They learned practical skills and heard from businesswomen in those fields. "We used it as an opportunity to get women executives in information technology to mentor and give advice to high school girls," said Jill Billhorn, AT&T sales center vice-president.
