Byline: Michael Puente Daily Herald Staff Writer It had originally been slated to stand seven stories tall, but after some debate, a developer has agreed to scale back its condominium project just a bit. Wellington Partners will now build a five-story, 47 unit condominium building at 152 W.
Colfax, at the northeast corner of Smith and Colfax. The Palatine Village Council approved the revised project at its Monday evening meeting. Last fall, Wellington proposed building the seven-story, 65-unit building at the corner. Trouble brewed when residents pointed out that the original plans did not fall in line with the village's downtown land-use guide.
