Byline: Dave Miller Daily Herald Sports Writer Life's a beach for Lauren Grochowski. At least it will be in college. The Naperville Central girls basketball player has committed to Coastal Carolina University. The Division I school is located in Conway, S.C., which is about 8 miles from Myrtle Beach.

"Knowing it's by a beach made me want to go there," Grochowski said, "and then once I got there and saw the campus and everything, I figured there's nothing I didn't like about it." Grochowski received interest from a number of colleges, including some from the Mid-American Conference, but Coastal Carolina was the first to offer her a scholarship.
