UAL has $30 million net loss for August ELK GROVE TOWNSHIP - UAL Corp., parent of bankrupt United Airlines, said Wednesday its August net loss was $30 million, with $82 million in expenses related to its reorganization. Excluding reorganization expenses, the No. 2 U.S. carrier reported a net profit of $52 million.

It had an operating profit of $80 million, up $92 million from August 2004. Chief Financial Officer Jake Brace said the reversal of the August 2004 operating loss was the result of the company's restructuring in bankruptcy.
