Byline: Michael Puente From local businesses and churches to high school students and little kids on the street selling lemonade, seems like everyone in Palatine is doing their part in trying to ease the suffering of the victims of Hurricane Katrina. For example, the Palatine High School girls cross country team - along with their coach Steve Currins - spent Labor Day morning raising money for victims of Hurricane Katrina by running up and down a hill 25 times.
The team took pledges for the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Fund. So, far, the team has raised nearly $4,000. Meanwhile, members of PalNet, a Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce business networking group, will donate $500 to the American Red Cross. Michael Tarpinian, a chamber ambassador and...
