Resident shows generosity: Carol White was walking with her children to the Glen Ellyn Library Thursday when she noticed a pickup truck outside First United Methodist Church. When she found out the truck was carrying supplies for hurricane victims, she immediately took out her wallet and gave organizers all the cash she had.

"Anything anyone can do is important," White said. Truck firm offers help: Warrenville-based International Truck and Engine Corporation has offered use of a 7,750-square-foot facility in Shreveport, La., to serve as a logistics center or staging area to help distribute relief supplies.
