Byline: Ted Cox If you missed last week's belated premiere of the new ABC sitcom "Freddie," you didn't miss much. In fact, there's still a chance to catch the debut of the actual pilot - if ABC ever gets around to airing it. ABC planned to run the first two episodes out of order because it considered the intended follow-up, "Rich Man, Poor Girl," to be funnier than the original, even though a viewer who sees both will be hard-pressed to tell a qualitative difference between them.

They're both lame, formulaic sitcoms driven by an overinsistent laugh track. In fact, ABC decided at the 11th hour to delay the pilot again. Instead, yet another episode will air at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on WLS Channel 7. Even so, I can't bring myself to pan "Freddie." There's...
