If Anderson happened to be standing in the very symmetrical space of Fullerton Hall at the Art Institute, well, that only served to deepen the impression made by an artist who plays off the ironies of the age.
An artist sees the connection between disparate things, and that defines the intangible wonder of Anderson's work as well as any pat rule can.
