Byline: Michael Puente Daily Herald Staff Writer As he receives treatment for injuries suffered on an Iraqi battlefield last month, family members know exactly what will make U.S. Army Specialist Bryan Anderson feel better: cards and letters from home. That's why Anderson's aunt Carol Schar hopes folks will take the time to write Anderson, a Rolling Meadows native, as a way to cheer him up.
Schar has been told by Anderson's mother, Janet Waswo of Rolling Meadows, that cards could lift Anderson's spirits as he recovers from his injuries. A 24-year-old U.S. Army specialist with the 411 Military Police Company, Anderson was critically injured while on patrol outside Baghdad on Oct. 23. Anderson has a twin brother, Bob, who is also serving in the U.S....
