LaSalle Bank gets back lost data tape CHICAGO - A U.S. mortgage firm affiliated with LaSalle Bank said Tuesday it had retrieved a computer tape with data of 2 million customers that was lost by delivery firm DHL, sparking a data security scare. ABN AMRO Mortgage Group Inc. said last Friday a tape with data including residential mortgage customer names, account information, payment histories and Social Security numbers was lost Nov.
18 in transit to a Texas credit bureau facility. The tape was found in a DHL facility after an extensive search. The routing label and tracking number had come off the package.
