Byline: Bob Gosman Daily Herald Correspondent There is a distinct possibility Stevenson senior swimmer Kevin Alland will show up for practice one day soon and find a surprise waiting at poolside. "We're contemplating putting his name on a trash can," senior Brian Mitchell said. You see, Alland is known to swim so hard that easy access to a trash can is often necessary.
"He's so intense that he'll work to the point where he makes himself sick," coach Susan Whitehouse said. That drive has helped Alland become an elite high school swimmer and bodes well for him at the next level. Alland recently signed an NCAA letter of intent to swim for Syracuse University.
