Byline: Cara Spoto Daily Herald Staff Writer SPRINGFIELD - Kathy Ryg and Elaine Nekritz rode Amtrak to the capital city Wednesday to show their support for increased passenger rail service through Illinois. However, the two suburban lawmakers will be driving home today, because the trains don't run at convenient times, something they say proves the need for better train service.
"In order to make it to home by 6:30 I would have to take a train at 10:30 (a.m.). That's why I had to drive," said Nekritz, a Democratic state representative from Northbrook.
