Byline: Harry Hitzeman Daily Herald Staff Writer A two-day coffee-tasting expo in Warrenville and a debate and speech contest for local teens are two of the newer programs that could receive funding from the city's tourism and arts fund over the next two years. The city recently doled out more than $132,000 in funds raised through its 5 percent hotel-motel tax.
Most of the money went to annual events, such as city festivals and sports tournaments. New funding went to the Warrenville Park District, which received $5,590 for its Fall Family Fest, and to the local historical society, which is getting $816 to produce a new brochure.
