Mullins won't vote on Block 27.(News)

Byline: Andrew Schroedter Daily Herald Staff Writer Palatine Mayor Rita Mullins said she'll recuse herself from any decision regarding development proposals for Block 27 downtown. That's because Mullins used to live within the block's boundaries. "I don't want any appearance of impropriety," she said Friday.
Mullins sold the home at 123 N. Brockway St. to Hummel Group, one of two developers wanting to build on the block. Hummel still owns that property and one other within the Block 27 boundaries, though the old Mullins home has since been razed.
